Emmett C. Schuster
President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Schuster joined Gibson General Hospital in 2007 as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Before coming to Gibson General, he served as interim CEO at Weiser Memorial Hospital in Weiser, Idaho. With more than 15 years experience in healthcare executive management, Mr. Schuster has led hospitals and nursing homes in Indiana, Idaho, Kansas, Wisconsin and Oklahoma.
In addition to his healthcare leadership experience, Mr. Schuster served 32 years in the U.S. Army, in active and reserve duty, retiring in 2009 as a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in entomology from Texas Tech University and a master’s in health services administration from the University of Kansas. Mr. Schuster is a CEO Circle Member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Lori A. Phillips, DNP, RN, NP-C
Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer
Dr. Phillips joined Gibson General Hospital in 2011 as Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
A certified family nurse practitioner, she has extensive experience in nursing in hospital and physician practice environments and in nursing education. Prior to joining Gibson General Hospital, Dr. Phillips practiced as a nurse practitioner in southern Illinois and was the department head and faculty member in the associate degree nursing program at Wabash Valley College, Mt. Carmel, IL.
Dr. Phillips earned her nursing diploma from Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing, Evansville, IN, and bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Evansville. She also holds a master’s degree in nursing as a family nurse practitioner and a doctorate in nursing practice from the University of Southern Indiana.
She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International, the Honor Society of Nursing; the National League of Nursing; the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners; and the National Student Nurses Association.
Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Harrington joined Gibson General Hospital in 2011 as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
He joined Gibson General from Fleming County Hospital in Flemingsburg, Ky., where he served as CFO. Mr. Harrington has worked in healthcare for 25 years serving in various senior financial management positions in hospitals and healthcare organizations in Kentucky, Kansas and Texas.
Mr. Harrington holds bachelor’s degree in accounting from Southeastern Oklahoma University in Durant, Okla.
