At Gibson General Hospital, we are committed to our mission of providing high quality, patient-centered care. In order to measure our performance, patients are routinely asked for feedback on the care they received following a visit to our hospital.
Gibson General Hospital partners with Press Ganey, the nation’s leading patient satisfaction research company, to conduct patient surveys using a standardized questionnaire that is mailed to patients’ homes. The survey consists of questions designed to determine patient perception using a five point grading scale from very good to very poor. In addition, surveys also have space available for written comments concerning the patient’s experience.
The survey covers a broad range of areas, including physician, nursing and technologist care; admission process; treatment of visitors and family; quality of meals; and cleanliness the hospital and the patient room.
After collecting the surveys and calculating results, Press Ganey sends Gibson General Hospital quarterly reports which are used to recognize those departments that are doing well and also identify opportunities for improvement.
If you receive a patient satisfaction survey in the mail, please take some time to fill it out and return it. We want to provide the best possible service to our patients. In order to do that we need to know what we're doing right and what needs improvement, and we depend on our patients to keep us informed.
